Drive your life!

Our life can be compared to a long drive in our car. The only difference is that, when you are driving, you are aware of your destination. In life, unfortunately, we are many times not sure at all where we wish to go. We are the drivers of the vehicle called life but we know to only start driving but not sure of the destination. We think ” I will figure it out as I go”. There are ups and downs on the way, much like the joys and sorrows of life. Sometimes the road is rough and bumpy, sometimes smooth. Sometimes, you have a companion; at other times, you are alone. Some get in and leave you after some distance. Some proceed with you for longer distances. Occasionally, you take a wrong turn or miss one, leaving you confused and lost; of course once in a while, a wrong turn leads you to a new destination much to your joy. There are also mishaps, punctures or breakdowns, and you have to call the mechanic and get it repaired. Sometimes, you envy others’ cars; at other times, you like your own. There are narrow roads and there are highways. You also take short breaks in between, when you are tired. But inspite of all sorts of hurdles, you still manage to make it to your destination, with constant effort, logical reasoning and will power.

Life is much the same way. You start the journey of life, make mistakes and learn from them and move on. Here, the destination is many times not clear. You meet a lot of people along the way, some good and helpful; some bad and deceiving. Some are with you for a short time, others go a long way. You come across a lot of hardships and learn to cope. Joyous moments inspire you and give you the impetus to proceed and sad moments pull you down, albeit temporarily. Many a times, you are confused as to the direction you should take. Sometimes you make a wrong decision and realizing your mistake, start anew. Sometimes your decision can show you a different path altogether and a better one than what you had planned earlier; it’s a matter of chance. But no matter what, we strive to learn from our mistakes, overcome the hardships and come out a winner.

So, what do we learn from this? We learn that small misfortunes cannot be allowed to deter our efforts from achieving big. We have to dream big and work relentlessly towards achievement of that dream. We must fearlessly go forward and overcome our obstacles with patience and determination. We too must help others along the way, forget and forgive their bad behavior. Make allowances and compromises and make long lasting relationships. All this will not only lead us to our destination but also make us happy and proud. So, go for it!!

My first experience at blogging

I have been interested in writing a blog for quite some time and even wrote one or two on blogger earlier. I have seen WordPress blogs here and there and so, with some difficulty, got myself a blogsite on it. I had difficulty logging in too, since WordPress refused to accept either my email address or username a couple of times. However, yesterday I was successful in my effort and wrote a blog on ‘ Are you in a rut?’ . Since I had spent a considerable time on writing the blog, there was no time to edit it, so I saved it as a draft, thinking I will publish it after editing. Imagine my surprise and shock when I logged in for editing and could not find it! Can anyone tell me where are these drafts saved and how do I retrieve it? Thanks in advance for any help from anyone.
